GATE Geometry Honors (8th Grade)

The 2010-2011 8th grade GATE Geometry Honors Eligibility Criteria was sent home with 7th grade Algebra students in March 2010. A parent letter was attached explaining the criteria. Students will need to meet these prerequisites in order to continue in the accelerated math program next fall. Students must meet ALL of the following: Score Advanced on the Third Trimester Algebra Benchmark Assessment and Score 500 or above on the Algebra California Standards Test (CST). The district will send out a written invitation and the participation agreement in mid August to the students who qualify for this program. If an incoming 8th grade student does not meet the above criteria, that child will be placed in 8th grade Algebra.
